Grace Engenders Glory

Grace gives birth to glory. In the atmosphere of eternal grace the glory of heaven comes down and becomes our prized possession. By finding our share in the realm of grace through the gospel we taste of the powers of the world to come (Heb 6:5) as we obtain heavenly glory. The glorious risen Lord imparts his own glory to his children (Amazing!).

It is in the atmosphere of the gospel of grace we ‘share in,’ ‘possess’ (GK: G4348  peripoiēsis: a laying up, keeping, an acquiring or obtaining, acquisition) the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. We become partakers of the glory of the resurrected and ascended King.

Finding our dwelling place in the tabernacle of grace, there beholding the glory of the Lord, we are penetrated and saturated by glorious grace and transformed from glory to glory by the Spirit of the living God. (2 Cor 3:18). As the grace of the cross permeates our lives there comes a progressive transformation where his glory becomes our glory as he lives his life through us by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

The eternal glory that shines on the face of the eternal Son of Man (2 Cor 4:6) shines on our faces (Acts 6:15). This infused goodness, conveyed to the children of God, prepares them for future glorification.

The community of faith becomes an ever–increasing glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Eph 5:27 NASB), showing forth the glory of his unending grace and love. Christ’s enthroned glory becomes the glory of his chosen people.  

The body of Christ becomes a radiant community that lives to glorify him in word and deed. The church clothed in glory, reflecting the glory of the resurrected Christ, becomes the light of the world and a city set on a hill for all the world to see (Mat 5:14).
